This course is designed to give students a thorough understanding of the principles of microeconomics, while preparing them for the AP Exam given in May. Along with learning content, students will have opportunities to improve their communication, problem-solving, and collaborative skills. Students will develop a foundation of basic economic concepts, become familiar with the functions of individual economic decisions, factor/product markets, market and government failures, and have a general understanding of efficiency and equity. An emphasis in this course will be to help students learn to think like economists when approaching problems. Students will learn to think about the world in an economic way and learn to express that thinking in appropriate economic terms.

Emphasis will be placed on the study of national income and price-level determination, the government’s role in achieving macroeconomic goals, domestically and internationally. An emphasis in this course will be to help students learn to think like economists when approaching problems. Students will learn to think about the world in an economic way and learn to express that thinking in appropriate economic terms.
