Finance introduces students to the exciting world of money. This course will examine: the American monetary system, banking, insurance, real estate, money markets, the stock market, international banking, and investment strategies. Students will learn financial concepts through the use of simulation, investment planning, decision making, and examination of current issues. Learn how to play the money games. This class articulates to Front Range Community College (see instructor or counselor for more information)

Students will develop decision-making skills to become educated consumers with an understanding and academic knowledge of consumer resources and financial organizations. The course focuses on personal and family resources, job and career, personal and family finances, and wellness. (Relevant topics includes: independent living, healthy lifestyles, career research and job portfolios, personal financial literacy, investments, credit, insurance, leasing vs. purchasing of autos and homes.) This course is recommended for 11th or 12th graders and meets the PSD graduation requirement for Personal Financial Literacy.
